Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski University (AFMU) is a full-fledged, accredited, non-public higher education institution which is developing with an unprecedented momentum. Now, it is a thriving and vibrant academic centre based in the second largest city in Poland, Krakow, the city renowned for an exceptionally rich academic tradition going back over 600 years.
Within 7 faculties, we offer 24 fields of study to nearly 9 000 students. We have built our own state-of-the-art Campus, which comprises the university administration, excellent teaching facilities, computer labs, cafeteria, shops, doctor’s office, gym, library, student organisations, tv studio, art galleries, university hotel and more. The remarkable progress that we have made can be clearly seen in the development of our academic offer which took place over this short period of time since the establishment.
We have the right to confer doctoral degrees in three scientific disciplines and the right to confer the habilitated doctor degree in social sciences within the discipline of legal sciences.
The university campus is in an excellent location with easy access from the railway and bus stations as well as an international airport. It is based in the city centre on the Vistula bank some three kilometers from the historic heart of the metropolis – the tourist world-class attraction, Old Town, is just a thirty-minute walk away or ten-minute ride on one of the frequent bus or tramway services. Supermarkets, shopping centre, a cinema complex are all within a walking distance.
The dream of a globally acclaimed institution promoted Mr. Maciej Kluz Chowdhury to set up AFMU. Mr. Maciej Kluz visited many countries of the world and observed the way the universities of those countries work. He made up his mind to establish such an institution which will be the torch bearer of knowledge and wisdom. In spite of his busy schedule, he spent a lot of time to actualize his dream into reality. Being the chairman of Reliance industrial park, he has also associated himself with a variety of humanitarian works. In accordance with the slogan, 'Digital Poland', Mr Maciej Kluz wants to make the students go digital by setting up a college which excels in business and technology.
AFMU undertakes to build up a reputation as a rural level low cost digital education in Business and Technology with innovative research and development as a private institution.
The mission of AFMU is to contribute, through collaborative research and education to efforts to create a Digital Poland. AFMU pays due attention to the spread of technological knowledge everywhere.
AFMU aspires to be a world class teaching and capacity development institution that addresses the
needs of present and future generation. It endeavors to provide global leadership on the aspects
of business and technology. AFMU also seeks to become a widely recognized international graduate
